Carolyn Dunford was born in Boston and raised in Connecticut and Massachusetts. She recently relocated to Cape Cod, after 30 years in Seattle. She holds a BFA in Graphic Design and Photography from the University of Massachusetts, an MUP in Urban Planning from the University of Washington, and an MLIS in Library and Information Science from the University of Washington.
Dunford is an accomplished mid-career painter, she now works primarily in abstract and pattern-based imagery.
In Washington state, Dunford has exhibited at the Brackenwood Gallery in Langley, WA, the Magnuson Park Gallery in Seattle, Howard/Mandville Gallery in Kirkland, WA, and Portalis in Seattle, WA.
In Massachusetts, Dunford has exhibited at the Higgins Gallery at Cape Cod Community College in Hyannis, the Cape Cod Cultural Center, Cape Cod Hospital, the Cotuit Center for the Arts, Elusie Gallery, Falmouth Art Center, JW Reilly Boston, Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum, Provincetown Art Association and Museum, Tree’s Place Gallery, Truro Center for the Arts, and Wellfleet Preservation Hall. Dunford’s work has been included in several juried exhibitions at museums throughout the US.
Dunford is a lending artist with The Corporate Art Loan Program at deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum.
